GPC World records can be made in a National Championship Contest. At least 2 GPC Judges must be judging the lift to make a GPC World record.
National and State records can be made in local contests. At least 2 National judges must be judging the lift.
State records for a particular state can only be made by residents of that particular state.
For any world, national, or state record to be recognized the lifter has to be a member of the American Powerlifting Committee.
