National Powerlifting and Bench Press Championships
July 9-10, 2005
The third annual 2005 APC National Powerlifting and Bench Press Championships were held at the Holiday Inn Express in beautiful downtown Athens, Georgia July 9-10, 2005. We can’t begin without thanking all the people who made this event possible. Of great importance are the spotter/loaders led by platform manager Eric Stoker. For those of you who don’t know Eric, he is the big blonde fellow who has managed our platform since day one and is greatly responsible for me to brag that "the bar has never hit the floor in one of our meets". Thomas Shaffer has become a mainstay who we really appreciate. Others include Roland McNeil, Al Hunter and some of his students and lifters from the Jefferson "Iron Disciples" powerlifting team led by Al. As usual the table crew was led by the beautiful and talented Nadine Baker assisted by Stephanie Hornsby, Ann Leverett, Janie Capehart, Daniel Clower with the music and Shelia Rouse. This occasion welcomed home James Rouse from a year in Iraq to assume his duties as Vice President Elect and judge. Other judges included Technical Chairman Elect Bob Packer, Mike Kidd, Earl Leverett, Radar Capehart, L B Baker, and Nadine Baker.
